BOOKEND

Book End Front View.jpg

Across America, a silencing is taking place. American education is under attack by unprecedented challenges not seen since the Red Scare McCarthy era of the 1950s. Since 2021, organizations and groups advocating for book bans have steadily risen, violating the First Amendment rights of students to receive information, and drastically expanding the scope of censorship in public schools. Nearly 16,000 book bans have been documented nationwide, creating a chilling atmosphere of an increasingly controlled narrative that sacrifices truth to avoid anything that threatens, unsettles or contradicts those in power.

Bookend pushes back against censorship, insisting on the fundamental rights guaranteed by the First Amendment. Arms outstretched, face raised to the sky, Bookend embraces the power of the word to transform and refuses to be silenced.
