biography
Christy Ferrato’s work explores the intersection of poetry with other art forms to consider how we might transcend our stained histories. Her creative work includes various anthologies, mixed-media installation, live performance and other mediums.
Ferrato has been featured in lectures, publications, poetry performances and exhibitions including the Lake Eden Arts Festival, the Taos Poetry Festival, the Re(dress) Poetry series in Los Angeles, the Fort Collins Museum of Contemporary Art, the Durango Arts Center, and the Vermont College of Fine Arts.
Ferrato received a BFA in printmaking from the University of Denver and an MFA in poetry from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. Among her honors, she has twice been a featured poet at the Taos Poetry Festival, has received two Pushcart Prize nominations, and nominations for the Best New Poets of 2010, and the Willow Award.
